Her (2013)

A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need. [imdb]

Nominated for 5 Oscars:
Best Picture

Original Screenplay (WINNER)
Best Original Score

Best Original Song
Best
Production Design

Like many other 2013 film, this one has a promising start, then slowly goes down the hill in the second half. Is it because the film's too long? Could be. But those first 45 minutes are really charming - the cinematography is great, the production design is a delight, and the direction feels really special. It's a special film indeed, with another strong performance from Joaquin.

But the story itself is quite... absurd. And that's very noticeble towards the end, which almost feels thrown in there. A mood piece that almost works.

My rating for the film: 8/10.
